View on AmazonHi, I’m Emily Jelen.
I’m a Board Certified Mental Health Coach based out of Jamestown, ND, and I’m so glad you’re here. I hold certifications in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University, Mental Health Coaching through the American Association of Christian Counselors, and ADHD Coaching through Naturalistico. I am also currently enrolled as a graduate student at Indiana Wesleyan University.
I’m an AuDHD mom, and I’m passionate about supporting neurodiverse families.
I work with individuals 18+ and couples on life’s many challenges. My Christian faith heavily informs my coaching. I hold the core belief that our hope, strength, and value come from Jesus Christ. What a relief to know that we don’t have to manage the hardships of life alone!
Outside of coaching, I’m a wife and a mom of five kids, an avid reader, and a coffee enthusiast.
What coaching is, and isn’t
Coaching focuses on skills, habits, and goals. It isn’t therapy, and it doesn’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. If you need clinical care, I’ll help you find it.

Common questions
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Therapy treats mental health conditions. Coaching helps you build skills and reach goals. Many people do both.
Do you support neurodivergent clients?
Yes. I’m an AuDHD mom, I hold a certification in ADHD Coaching, and I’m passionate about supporting neurodiverse families. Neurodivergent individuals and couples are very welcome.
Do we meet online or in person?
In-person options are assessed on an individual basis. Most sessions occur online, but options may be available upon request.
Are you a life coach in Jamestown, ND?
Yes. I’m a Board Certified Mental Health Coach based in Jamestown, North Dakota. My coaching covers many of the same areas as life coaching, like goals, habits, relationships, stress, and life transitions, grounded in Christian faith. I work with clients in Jamestown and Stutsman County, across North Dakota, and anywhere in the US online.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals. I recommend that clients commit to 4-6 weekly or bi-weekly sessions initially.
How do I pay?
Payment is made through Venmo (@EJelen) before each session starts. The free intro call doesn’t require any payment.
Is what I share private?
Yes. What you share in sessions stays between us. I won’t discuss your sessions or share anything that could identify you without your written permission. There are three exceptions: if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, if the law requires disclosure, or if you ask me to share information with someone you name. In couples sessions, I don’t keep secrets between partners, so anything either of you tells me may come up in a joint session. Any notes I keep are stored securely and are never shared outside our work together.
